We’ve talked about how other people can build you up. You can work with and learn from very successful people to become even more successful yourself. But it works the other way around as well. If you hang around people who only complain about why they can’t do things, and people who are constantly struggling, that’s probably going to end up being your story as well.
Take a moment to consider who you talk to online. Who do you see in person? Who do you work with? Who do you hire? Who mentors you? Who do you mentor? Consider the people you communicate with frequently.
Would you classify those people as generally positive about success? Do you feel better or worse after you talk to them? Do they tend to find excuses for why they can’t do something or do they tend to succeed no matter what happens?
You want to hang around those who have a mindset of success. If people are constantly complaining, always see the glass as half empty, or have been dragging their feet forever without moving forward to achieve their dreams, it might be time for you to move on.
You can’t let the poor mindset of others creep in and steal your positive mindset. One of the biggest differences between those who are successful and those who aren’t is that successful people operate on a higher frequency. They know that success is inevitable. Take absolutely everything away from them and they’ll be able to earn it back and reach the same level of success or higher in no time at all.
What would happen if someone took everything from you? Would you give up or would you rebuild to the point where you are now, or better? Would you be devastated or would it not faze you because you know your success is inside you?
It’s time for you to adopt the attitude of the world’s most successful people. You have to feel it in your bones that success is around the corner. You have to stop at nothing to make it yours. Don’t let negative, low success people drag you down. I’m not telling you to be elitist, but I am telling you that negativity is catching. Success is also catching. Do you want to catch success or do you want to catch complaints, negativity, and a life full of hardship? I’ve chosen the former, now it’s your turn.
