If you want to have a lot of products on the market, then you might need a little help getting there!
It’s wonderful to create your own products. Product creation can absolutely be your path to success and financial freedom.
People love to buy things that will help them. In this case, that means info products—the info products you’ll be creating. They want their lives to be easier or better in some way. You can create products that solve a desperate problem they have or that feed into a passion they have.
Being Prolific Matters
It’s one thing to create one great product… But that’s not going to be enough. It’s very important to be a prolific product creator. You should release several products over time. You really want to build a name for yourself. You want to have a stable of products available for people to buy.
Whether you’ve ever created a product before or not, you might find product creation to be very intimidating. I completely understand this. I remember what it was like before I created my first product.
Honestly, there’s nothing to be afraid of. It really is pretty simple to create products these days. Whether you want to create a written product, audio product, video product, course, or whatever… It’s easy to find the tools and get it done.
What’s not so easy is to find the time to create. It’s especially not easy to find the time to create products if you plan to create a lot of products. If you want people to get into the habit of buying product after product of yours, then you need to have things out there for them to buy.
That leaves a dilemma for you. Maybe you don’t have the time or inclination to create a lot of products on your own. Does that take you totally out of the game when it comes to prolific product creation?
Of course, my answer is that it absolutely does not take you out of the game.
Outsourcing Product Creation
What you can do is outsource your product creation.
You can outsource the creation of your first product, additional products, or all products.
You can choose to outsource idea generation. You can hire people to research hot trends and what people are willing to buy in today’s day and age. You can hire people to research what will be most profitable for you and present the data to you.
You can outsource outlining. Maybe you have a great idea or you’ve outsourced a great idea. Well, people can dig even deeper and find specific topics you can cover within your product.
From there, you can either create the product yourself or you can hire someone to create it for you.
You can hire someone to edit and finalize your product.
You get the idea. You can outsource the entire thing from start to finish, or any individual part of the creation process that you feel unsure about doing yourself. The product is created for you to sell. So, if you have more money than time or you want to snowball your profits, then this is the option for you.
Or, maybe you want to create the product yourself but you aren’t sure about the ideas and research. Outsource it!
Or, maybe you have the great ideas and the outlines and the research all ready to go, but you aren’t sure about creating the product yourself or you don’t have the time to do so. So, outsource it!
Choosing What’s Right for You
Think about your business and where you want it to go. How many products do you want to have out there this month, this year, and within 10 years?
Think about your budget for outsourcing. Do you want to hire people for research, outlining, idea generation, and the actual product creation? What can you afford right now?
What you might do is start to create products yourself and then pour some of your profits back into product creation and outsourcing.
Some people like to have total control over the creation of their products. Others don’t mind as much-- they just want to see their ideas come to life.
There is no correct answer here. You have to choose what’s right for you and what’s right for your business.
Don’t Hesitate to Outsource
I urge you not to hesitate to outsource… though there are some things that might be holding you back right now.
Some people are terrified that they won’t get high quality products back when they outsource and I do understand that concern.
It’s absolutely important to really pick and choose who you outsource to. You only want the best of the best.
Contrary to popular belief, getting the best of the best in an outsourcer doesn’t always mean paying the most money. There are some fantastic outsourcers out there who are extremely reasonable in price.
Start a Little Bit at a Time
What you might do, especially if you’re hesitant to start outsourcing, is to outsource just a little bit of the product creation at a time.
Maybe you’ll just outsource the research for now and you’ll create the product yourself. Once you start earning money and have faith in the outsourcer, maybe next time you’ll outsource the creation of the product itself.
When I talk about starting a little bit at a time or outsourcing a little bit at a time, I also mean this when it comes to the outsourcer. You have to know who you can trust. You have to know that the person will do a great job for your business.
So, that means giving the person you outsource to small tasks at first. You can have them check in with you in milestones so you can be sure they’re producing work you’ll be proud to put your name on.
The good news is that you’ll really get to know the people you outsource to and you’ll really start to trust them so you can hire them without hesitation for even larger projects.
Manage Your Projects Well
It’s very important that you manage your projects well. As you start to outsource and become more prolific with product creation, you’ll probably start to hire more than one outsourcer. You’ll have multiple projects going at once.
This is a good thing because it means you are scaling your business up in incredible ways. But, it can also be a really scary thing to some degree. How do you know what to do, when? How do you know who is working on what?
When you start to outsource product creation, that means that you have become sort of a project manager. Most of the stress of actually creating the product is off of your shoulders. But you should keep up with your outsourcers and make sure the quality is being maintained.
In the end, your name is going on the products, so you have to make sure everything is absolutely top-notch.
Outsourcing Product Creation Is a Smart Business Move
You can only do so much on your own. You need a lot of products out there over time. You can do this by yourself, but it will take much longer and can be quite frustrating.
You’re running a business, which means you need to start scaling your business up if you want to earn more. You want to be able to dip your toes into more than one business model. It makes complete sense, then, that you would start to outsource product creation so you can release more products and earn more money.
Don’t hesitate to get started outsourcing projects and products to people you trust. Start small and build up from there. You can outsource any part of the product you’re unsure of or just want off your plate. You can outsource a little bit of your product creation or all of your product creation.
The choice is totally yours. Think about what’s best for your business when it comes to outsourcing and go for it!
